A deep dive into the success of the class of 2025

When first-year education major Michael Sanchez heard Miami University’s class of 2025 had been named “the largest, most academically accomplished incoming class in history,” he was surprised.  “I’m a bit intimidated,” Sanchez said. “In front of other people, I don’t think I would hold up to that standard, but hopefully I do.”


Unlike last year, this year's Welcome Weekend and First 50 Days events will be in-person.

Welcome Events to be in person

In contrast to last year’s schedule of online-only welcome events, this fall, first-year, transfer and second-year Miami University students will all have the opportunity to attend in-person welcome events.


Miami students at both the Oxford and regional campuses have a chance to win Apple products, hockey tickets or even a semester’s worth of tuition through the university’s new vaccine incentive program.

Miami announces new vaccine incentive program

Miami announced its new “Your Shot to Win” program in a July 13 university wide email. The program enters all full-time students who have received at least one dose of any FDA emergency authorized COVID-19 vaccine into weekly drawings for various prizes.

Miami searches for Associate Provost and Dean for Undergraduate Education

Miami University is looking to fill the position of associate provost and dean for undergraduate education. The new position serves as the campus leader for undergraduate education. The dean will be responsible for raising the standard for undergraduate and teaching, promoting excellence in undergraduate education and maintaining Miami’s reputation. The three finalists for the position are Jeffrey Wanko, Amy Bergerson and Daryl Maeda.
