Fall semester starts with a COVID-19 outbreak

  After her high school years were disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, Miami University junior Autumn Allen stepped onto campus in August excited for a taste of normal. Three days later, the media and communication major tested positive for COVID-19. And she wasn’t alone.


The owners of OxVegas Chicken plan to offer plenty of seating for their customers to dine-in.

OxVegas Chicken fills Oxford’s fast chicken restaurant void

Senior Tyler Storer and recent graduate Jackson Trester are opening a new restaurant this fall called OxVegas Chicken. The restaurant will be fast-casual dining with a limited menu including chicken tenders, chicken sandwiches, mac and cheese, Texas toast and waffle fries.

Miami University receives Collegiate Purple Star Award for supporting veterans and military-affiliated students

The Collegiate Purple Star Award is given to schools that are considered military-friendly and has many variations across the United States. However, this Ohio-specific designation is different from other programs because it is a free application process. One of the groups who initiated the program was the Ohio Veterans Educational Council, an organization of public and private institutions.
