  In this special edition, This Week @ TMS presents the first episode of Press Box Thoughts, a new sports podcast from The Miami Student. Each episode, hosts Patrick Geshan and Josiah Collins will discuss anything and everything Miami sports. "Hallmates" is the debut episode of The Miami Student's new podcast, Behind the Brick, which will be released weekly beginning Fall 2019. The inspiration behind the series is to explore unfiltered parts of life at Miami University that aren't so glamorous -- the slices of college life that can't be scrolled by on Instagram or showcased through Snapchat stories.

The guys who make it and the guys who don't

Defenseman Grant Hutton often feeds forward Josh Melnick for transitions out of Miami's defensive zone. Melnick may dump the puck and forward Karch Bachman will use his speed to try to make space in the offensive zone. Forward Carson Meyer may then jump off the bench for a line change and, if defenseman Louie Belpedio is pinching, Meyer might find Belpedio in front of the net.

Oxford City Council Debate

The Miami Student hosted its first-ever Oxford City Council debate Wednesday, Oct. 18 in Wilks Theater. Eight of nine candidates vying for four open spots on the city's council lined the stage to answer questions about Oxford's most pressing issues. Attended by community members, faculty and Miami students, the forum brought together many of the community's stakeholders to talk town-gown relations, local business, environmental concerns and more.
