Provost steps down after three years in position

After serving as the provost and executive vice president of Miami University for the past three years, Elizabeth Mullenixwill be stepping down from the position this summer and returning to her teaching position in the College of Creative Arts (CCA) in the fall.

The real reason why Miami doesn’t have sorority houses

Of the 24 Interfraternity Council fraternity chapters at Miami, 21 occupy off-campus houses associated with the university. These chapter houses allow second-year fraternity men to live off campus, so long as they and their chapter are in good standing with the university. But sorority women do not have the same opportunity.

Hailey Roth came to Miami University last fall excited about the many opportunities of college life. A local to Bethesda, Maryland, Roth saw college as her opportunity to break out of her hometown mold and start something new: a new living situation, different classes, a fresh environment and most importantly, new friends.



Miami University students had the opportunity to register to vote and request an absentee ballot outside of the Armstrong Student Center up until Oct. 8, which can be returned in person or by mail up until Nov. at 7:30 p.m.

Voter scams impact absentee ballot voting across Ohio

With the November election rapidly approaching, Ohio residents have already begun receiving absentee ballots through the mail. The Butler County Board of Elections began sending ballots on Oct. 8, which can be returned anytime between now and 7:30 p.m. on election day.
