Abigail Ankeney is a senior double majoring in journalism as well as media and communication from Scarsdale, New York. She joined The Student during her first year at Miami and is currently the Opinion Editor and Business Manager.

It’s been 35 years since “Field of Dreams” was first released to American audiences. It doesn’t ring any less important and impactful watching it today, even for my third and fourth times.
It took more than 18 months between its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival before the film was released to theater audiences. I’d been hearing about it for quite some time, and knew from the moment I first learned of it that I needed to see it.
I saw the film opening day and was promptly blown to smithereens in sheer excitement. “Monkey Man” explores political repression and religious persecution, all while finding a way to be one of the most violent movies I’ve ever seen.
When I kick back to watch a sci-fi movie, I want to feel that I can be a part of a great, different universe. I don’t want to be slammed with convoluted storylines.
From top to bottom, this film felt unfinished. The animation style felt stale, and the fight scenes were uninspired and lazy.
The past four years of my life, in the whirlwind of college, in the oversight-free environment of young adulthood, have not been the “best four years of my life.”
Whitford had the crowd laughing constantly, with several moments when the crowd’s laughter interrupted his answers during the Q&A with John Forren, executive director of the Menard Family Center for Democracy. Many in the crowd of hundreds were excited to see the actor who played a role that defined television dramas.
