After nearly two years of waiting from the initial announcement of a new album, fans were finally rewarded for their patience on Aug. 29.
It made sense that when we first went Uptown two weeks ago after arriving in Oxford early for band camp, my friends’ faces fell after spotting the new marquee at Brick. It listed a somewhat-familiar, somewhat-new lineup: Karaoke Night on Mondays, Country Night on Wednesdays … and, instead of the beloved ’90s Night, “TikTok Tuesdays.”
Being from Chicago, a place with iconic regional food, I love trying “specialty” foods whenever I visit other cities and states. From Michigan cherries to Nashville hot chicken to Florida grouper, I’ve had some really amazing food during my travels around the U.S.
It was in Hillcrest Hall 157 where I first discovered just how good a s’mores Pop Tart can be with a little creativity.
Watching David Lowery’s “The Green Knight,” it’s hard to believe it’s based on the 14th-century tale. While I don’t watch that many movies, it has to be one of the most unusually clever and artistically adventurous films I’ve seen in ages.

Almost 25 years since “F# A# Infinity,” post-rock drone collective Godspeed You! Black Emperor is a meditative experience – a mix of noise, guitar, and vocals twists around, formulating a deceptively precise and metered adaptation of rock's inconsistent sounds.
At 75 years old, Parton’s already accomplished more than most people hope to in their lifetime - but she isn’t done yet. Here are a few other things that Parton’s accomplished that are not only impressive, but have shown her love for making the world a better place:
As a self-proclaimed “Hamilfan,” or fan of the smash-hit musical “Hamilton,” it would be an understatement to say I was excited for Lin-Manuel Miranda’s newest movie musical adaptation, “In the Heights” (ITH).
After years of telling myself I didn’t care about royalty and would never choose to learn more, I decided it was finally time to start watching “The Crown.”
