OPINION

It’s complicated…

Miami University is the largest employer in Butler county, and because of that, this decision will set a precedent for COVID culture throughout the region.

OPINION

The year of choosing me

Yet, even in the midst of the pandemic, I tried to be perfect. Despite everyone in the world going through the same thing, I didn’t want anyone to know that I didn’t have it all figured out.

OPINION

Tell midterm burnout to take a hike

I’m not saying that you should drop out and backpack for three months on the Appalachian Trail or drive up to Hueston Woods every afternoon. It’s just worth a shot to check out Miami University’s 1000 acres of natural areas.

OPINION

‘Stick’ to the status quo

It’s almost like our parents putting bumper stickers on their cars, or even like tattoos. Showcasing small things we like through images on our devices, transportation or bodies is not a new concept, but it seems to be bursting at Miami.

YikYak is back: why that is concerning to me

Unfortunately, anonymous posting allows for people to post whatever they want with little to no accountability. The only thing that YikYak can really do is delete the post and ban you from the app, which I don’t think is a harsh enough consequence for cyberbullying.

OPINION

Petri dish blues

It left me laid up in bed for three days, coughing up a storm, running a low-grade fever and going through three separate boxes of tissues like I was Taylor Swift after a breakup.

OPINION

Let loneliness be a choice

I woke up at the same time every day. Started a class at 10:05 every day,  Ate lunch immediately after that class from the same dining hall, every day. Spent nights rewatching The West Wing, eating the same meal from Red Zone. Every. Single. Day.
