Brick Street, one of Oxford’s Uptown bars, hosted an event to celebrate Monday’s total solar eclipse that spanned from Northern Mexico to Eastern Canada. Oxford laid directly under the eclipse’s path of totality, with the moon fully covering the sun from 3:08 to 3:11 p.m.
The last total solar eclipse in Ohio took place in 1806, making the April 8 eclipse a once-in-a-lifetime historic event. Oxford was filled with a variety of festivities for the occasion, including a celebration just outside of King Library.
Ramadan Mubarak means “Blessed Ramadan.” It’s a month of daily fasting for Muslims all around the world, including many at Miami University. Ramadan follows the lunar calendar, so it shifts 10 days earlier each year. This year, Ramadan started on March 11 and ends April 10.
