Progression of Earth Day celebrations at Miami

Since its beginnings in 1970, Earth Day has been celebrated and honored by Miami University students. From early pushes to recognize the event locally to a vibrant annual celebration, students have been at the center of promoting the holiday.

Soaring opportunities at Hueston Woods

Hueston Woods is well known for its camping and hiking opportunities. However, the park is also home to live animals and educational opportunities in the nature center.


Oxford's water treatment plant maintains the quality of local water and distributes it to over 20,000 customers.

Efforts underway to soften local water

Oxford's water is notoriously hard, causing issues from hair damage to utility damage for students and residents. The city is working to resolve this through a water softening program, but in the meantime, students are finding other ways to mitigate the problem.
