The Miami Student wins two SPJ awards, honored finalist in five others

During the weekend of April 10-11, members of The Miami Student’s editorial staff attended the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) mega regional conference in Louisville, Kentucky. The conference, titled “Never Silent,” welcomed attendees from Regions 4, 5 and 12 bringing together student and professional journalists for a series of informational sessions and the presentation of the Mark of Excellence Awards for the best of collegiate journalism.

I wish this spirit were more common in the United States — less focused on relationships and more on love in general — because that’s a sentiment everyone can agree on."
