Miami University has hired Travis Steele as its next head men’s basketball coach. The move was announced in an email from Miami Athletics on Thursday afternoon. Steele, who most recently spent four years as the head coach at Xavier University, is the 28th head coach in program history.

They’re only 2-4 in their last six games, but the four losses came in close games to nationally ranked teams. In every game of the last six, the RedHawks have kept it competitive until the final buzzer.
The RedHawks will face the Central Michigan Chippewas this Thursday. The teams will get a good look at each other for next Tuesday's matchup between the two teams in Mount Pleasant, Mich.
The Miami University women’s basketball team lost at home Wednesday night to the Kent State Golden Flashes, 61-52. The Golden Flashes never relinquished the lead in the contest.
