Miami: Where are your priorities?

We ask for more transparency from the university. Perhaps the university stands to benefit commercially from the arena, but we struggle to see how the benefit to students will outweigh taking away Cook Field and enduring years of construction in the center of campus.

I’m “wasting” money, and I love it

I search for deals on everything from food to new books. I sometimes am a complete oxymoron, cutting every little cost on some things but spending without a care in the world when the prospect of a new adventure comes up. Money is not meant to be hoarded, and that number in your bank account won’t mean anything unless you use it in the real world.


Professors are a fundamental part of every student experience at Miami, and a proposed increase in professor workload could strain that relationship.

Faculty working conditions are student learning conditions. You need to understand that faculty morale, which was already at a historic low because of the university’s anti-union tactics and the slashing of academic programs, is now in free-fall, amid what must be called without exaggeration the intellectual implosion of this admirable institution.
