Several printing options available for students on campus
Of course, many students bring their own printers** but do you know how to use the uPrint service or are aware of the IT Print Center?
With Miami's uPrint utility you can print to a pay-for-print printer from your own desktop or laptop computer. All you need to is configure your Windows or MacOS computer to access printers in the Libraries, computer labs and other convenient locations on campus.
You can find simple how-to instructions and a list of available printers by going to IT Help, Miami's technology knowledge base. Once you load uPrint, just choose the printer you want to use. The printer will hold your print job for up to two hours. Once you get to the printer, just swipe your ID and your prints should appear!
Note: To be able to use the uPrint service over the wireless network, you will need to set your computer for MU-WIRELESS using 802.1x.
IT Services also offers a high-end Print Center where you can get poster printing, lamination, binding and more. The Print Center is in the IT Service Center, located in the west wing of Hughes Hall. The Print Center accepts MUlaa, student organization billing numbers, cash, credit cards and checks. For more information, please visit www.muohio.edu/printcenter.
**Many wireless printers do not function properly on Miami's wireless network, and in fact can cause interference with the wireless signal in residence halls. If you have a printer with wireless capabilities, please disable the wireless while on campus.
