Letters to the editor

Students should vote, influence Tally issues

As a response to last week's letter to the editor regarding students' involvement in local elections ("Student voters should not vote for Tally issues," Oct. 10) we believe that these issues strongly affect Miami University. Students may only attend Miami for four years, but their loyalty will remain long after they leave Oxford. A new public school building would impact students attending the university simply because by increasing the quality of the local school districts, Miami will continue to attract professors with children that meet the growing standards of the university.

We feel that Miami students' opinions should not be disregarded just because they are temporary residents in Oxford. We continue to contribute to the community and to the campus long after we have graduated.
