Miami men's hockey was swept by the St. Cloud State Huskies on the road this weekend. The RedHawks lost both games, 4-2 on Friday and 3-1 on Saturday, at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center.
In high school, we were all told that if we worked hard, stayed late and played well, we would have a chance to earn a coveted scholarship to a school that had Division I teams. Some of us did achieve this through countless hours spent in the gym and on the field, but an overwhelming majority of us did not (and carry immense amounts of jealousy for those that did).

The New England Patriots beat the Atlanta Falcons 34-28 on Sunday in the first overtime game in Super Bowl history.
The RedHawks currently have 14 players in their freshman class, and only six upperclassmen. With such a young team, inexperience is expected, but the future of Miami Hockey is bright.
Thank you, Super Bowl LI. In the midst of one of the least competitive NFL Playoffs in recent history, the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons combined to deliver a historic ending to the 2016-17 football season. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the Patriots and Falcons set a whopping 24 NFL records in their matchup Sunday night. Twenty-one of these newly minted records belong solely to the New England Patriots.

Any individual who has tuned into a sports talk show lately, flipped on a late-night episode of SportsCenter or been in the general vicinity of someone in a Patriots' jersey has heard the same, overdrawn narrative. Supposedly, Tom Brady and the New England Patriots are an unstoppable dynasty and are destined to solidify their status among the greats with another Super Bowl victory this Sunday.
