After the 2024-25 season, Miami University hockey Head Coach Anthony Noreen and his staff cut ties with almost every player on the roster. The cuts and transfers (along with the eventual influx of new names) signaled a new era at Goggin Ice Center, and the team’s results in the 2025-26 season showed what is possible for the program moving forward.

While the Miami University basketball teams are turning heads on the north side of campus at Millett Hall, RedHawks sports fans can also head to Goggin Ice Center on the south side to see the men’s hockey team take the ice. And, like those basketball teams, there has been significant tangible improvement for head coach Anthony Noreen’s group on the ice over halfway through the 2025-26 season.

The Miami University RedHawks hockey team opened up the 2025-26 season hot, winning its first two games in the home opener against Ferris State University. Miami hits the road this weekend against the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) Engineers on Oct. 10-11.

The dog days of summer, where the only sports on television are baseball and whatever niche sport ESPN8: “The Ocho” is showing, like wiffleball and professional bubble hockey, are over. Football is back to gracing our screens throughout the week, with the National Football League and college football covering Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

5 Miami home games to watch this fall semester

As the fall semester begins, the Miami University football, volleyball, field hockey and soccer teams open their 2025 seasons looking to capture a Mid-American Conference (MAC) championship. In October, the hockey and men’s and women’s basketball teams will look to succeed in their non-conference slates before beginning MAC and National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) play in December. 


From Moscow to Miami: Ilia Morozov faces new obstacles, but stays confident as college hockey's youngest player

The city's enormous buildings and historical monuments scattered across its bustling streets make it one of the best-known locations worldwide. It’s home to approximately 13 million people, including Ilia Morozov, a young hockey player who will find himself venturing to Oxford this fall. 


RedHawks hockey recruit Artemi Nizameyev to return to Russia for 2025-26 season

Fans of the Miami University hockey program were given exciting news over the offseason, as the team’s recruiting class was ranked fourth in the nation by Neutral Zone. Despite this, one of the top recruits has decided to return home, keeping the class still toward the top in the country, but it certainly leaves a major hole.
