Between Aug. 10 and Aug. 17, police officers responded to seven different incidents, according to the Oxford Police Department report.
On Aug. 10, at 3:28 p.m., in the 300 block of S. Locust St., officers were conducting a traffic stop when they learned that two passengers had active warrants from other agencies. Officers arrested the passengers and transported them to their respective agencies.
On Aug. 11, at 7:32 p.m., in the 5200 block of College Corner Pike, officers were dispatched on a report of a female asleep in her car. When the officers arrived, they made contact with and identified the female. Officers also discovered suspected drugs and paraphernalia inside the car. The female was transported to McCullough-Hyde Hospital for evaluation, and charges are pending lab results.
On Aug. 12, at 3:03 p.m., in the 5100 block of Red Cloud Court, officers responded to conduct a welfare check on the children who live there.
On Aug. 14, at 5:46 p.m., in the 1000 block of S. Locust St., officers responded to a report by a female who said her boyfriend damaged her car’s driver’s-side mirror. No charges are being pursued at this time.
On Aug. 15, at 12:32 a.m., in the 1500 block of Dogwood Drive, officers responded to a female who reported that her Nintendo Switch 2 had been stolen.

Miami removes over 80 majors and programs, focuses on career outcomes

Registrar curriculum reports obtained by The Miami Student from the Provost’s office show that removals of degrees, majors, co-majors and concentrations met or exceeded additions for four out of the six academic years from 2019-20 to 2024-25.
