Oxford police cite underage drinking, fake IDs and warrants

Between Aug. 24 and Aug. 31, police officers responded to 33 incidents, according to the Oxford Police Department report.

On Aug. 24, at 12:41 a.m., at the intersection of McGuffey Avenue and Wells Mill Drive, officers were conducting a traffic stop when they found that the female passenger had an active warrant through the Butler County Sheriff’s Office. Officers took her into custody and transported her to Jamie’s Market where she was turned over to a deputy.

That same day at 6:10 p.m., at the Oxford Police Station, officers received a report of telecommunications fraud. The victim reported being defrauded of $1,480 after applying for a loan online. There were no suspects at the time.

Later that day at 11:51 p.m., in the 100 block of S. Locust St., officers were conducting a traffic stop and found the driver to be intoxicated. When searching the vehicle, officers found several open containers and a loaded 9 mm firearm. Officers also found the driver did not have a valid license. The driver was arrested and transported to Butler County Jail.

On Aug. 25, at 12:55 p.m., in the 5400 block of College Corner Pike, officers were dispatched to a domestic dispute. Officers made contact with the couple, who were living in a tent in the parking lot. Officers also discovered multiple warrants for both parties through the Butler County Sheriff’s Office. They were both taken into custody.

On Aug. 27, at 1:29 a.m., in the 700 block of W. Chestnut St., officers were conducting a traffic stop when they discovered that the male driver had an active warrant through the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office. The male was arrested for the warrant and for possession of Schedule I or II drugs.

On Aug. 28, at 12:14 a.m., in the 0 block of E. High St., officers stopped a male in an alley for an open container violation. During the stop, officers discovered the male to be under 21 and in possession of a fake ID. Officers cited and released the male.

That same day at 3:13 a.m., in the 1500 block of Magnolia Drive, officers responded to a report from a female who said two unknown males had entered her apartment.

Later that day at 10:01 p.m., in the 0 block of W. High St., officers responded to a dispute between two males. The dispute resulted in injuries to one of the men. A report was taken, but no charges were sought at the time.

On Aug. 29, at 12:02 a.m., in the 100 block of E. High St., officers were dispatched to a female who appeared to be highly intoxicated. When officers arrived, they found the female to be underage and in possession of multiple fake IDs. The female was transported to the hospital and issued citations.

That same day at 1:02 a.m., in the 100 block of E. High St., officers saw a male vomiting in a trash can. After making contact with the male, officers discovered he was highly intoxicated and underage. He was cited for underage consumption and disorderly conduct.

Later that day at 5:10 p.m., in the 300 block of N. Campus Ave., officers responded to a report that a male had thrown a canned alcoholic beverage at another male’s car windshield, cracking it. The male who threw the can fled the scene.

That night at 8:10 p.m., in the 5000 block of College Corner Pike, officers observed a male crash his car into another vehicle. Officers stopped the male and found him to be intoxicated. Officers arrested the male for operating a vehicle under the influence and took him to Butler County Jail.

Later that night at 10:35 p.m., in the 0 block of W. High St., officers charged a male with disorderly conduct after he was involved in a fight.

On Aug. 30, at 2:05 a.m., in the 100 block of E. High St., officers responded to a female who had suffered facial injuries after falling on the sidewalk. Officers discovered that the female was underage and in possession of a fake ID. The female was transported to the hospital for her injuries and cited for underage consumption, possession of a fake ID and disorderly conduct.

That same day at 2:14 a.m., in the 0 block of E. High St., officers found a male urinating in an alley. Officers made contact with the male and found that he was intoxicated, underage and in possession of a fake ID. Officers arrested, cited and released the male.

On Aug. 31, at 12:54 a.m., in the 600 block of S. College Ave., officers responded to a report of an active dispute between a male and a female. Once officers arrived, they discovered the female had an active warrant through another agency. Officers issued a citation on the warrant.
