Four men find drunk female near dumpster
Wednesday, around 2:30 a.m. an Oxford Police Department officer observed a female being carried by four males adjacent to 45 East Bar and Grill. When the officer asked the men if they knew the female they said they did not, but that they had found her passed out by the dumpster near 45 East. The officer identified the individual as first-year Carley Harrod. According to OPD, Harrod was unsteady on her feet and slurring her speech. While waiting to be processed at the police department, she passed out in the chair. Harrod was transported to McCullough-Hyde for screening and charged with disorderly conduct and intoxication.
Two first-years caught carrying malt liquor
Miami University first-years Andrew Lubawy and Richard Monihan III were charged with underage possession late Sunday night. At approximately 10:49 p.m. during a routine patrol, an Oxford Police Department officer spotted two males walking in the alley near 111 E. High St. According to OPD, The men attempted to conceal what they were carrying in their jackets. The officer stopped the men and found that they were holding 40 oz. bottles of malt liquor in paper bags.
Male passes out in front of doctor's office
Early Monday morning an OPD officer observed a first-year David Hess passed out on the steps of the west side of the Oxford Optician building. Hess was unresponsive at first. When the officer was finally able to get him to wake up, he determined Hess was underage and subsequently cited him with disorderly conduct and intoxication, according to OPD.
American flag stolen from DZ headquarters
The American flag in front of the Delta Zeta headquarters house at 202 E. Church St. was stolen early Monday morning. The incident occurred sometime between 3:30 and 4:00 a.m. The act was caught on security footage but did not provide helpful evidence.
