Female passes bus, receives drug charges

At 5 p.m. Friday, officers were notified of a vehicle that did not stop when a school bus was stopped with its lights flashing on Arrowhead Drive. The bus driver reportedly provided the license plate of a small blue car that was found to belong to Miami University sophomore MaryKatherine Graf, 19.

Police reportedly went to Graf's residence and asked to come in but she said she would rather come outside to meet with them. She admitted to passing the bus, but had to go back inside to get her driver's license.

When she opened the door, police reportedly detected the odor of marijuana coming from inside the apartment. When they confronted her about the scent, Graf reportedly admitted there was marijuana in the house and asked to call her father.

Graf reportedly refused to allow police to search her apartment, but police entered later after receiving a search warrant. When they searched the apartment, officers reportedly found multiple marijuana pipes, a grinder, an ash tray with marijuana residue in it, spice jars with marijuana residue in them on a nightstand, a Mason jar with marijuana stems in it, rolling papers, another person's Wisconsin driver's license, empty liquor bottles on top of the refrigerator and two bottles of Bacardi in the freezer and in a closet.

Graf was taken to OPD where she was charged with drug paraphernalia, underage possession of alcohol, drug abuse and a school bus violation.

Students blocking roadway insult officer

At 11 p.m. Friday, an officer observed three subjects walking side by side in the westbound lane of Church Street blocking traffic.

One of the males reportedly noticed the officer and the males moved to the side of the road, but one of them yelled an expletive at the officer. The officer reportedly stopped his car and slid on the slick roadway before he identified the male as Miami University first-year Daniel Amato, 18.

Amato reportedly had an odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath, bloodshot, glassy eyes and slurred speech. The officer reportedly told Amato it was a bad idea to attract attention to himself when he is consuming alcohol under the age of 21.

Amato was taken to OPD where he allegedly told police he had two cans of Natural Light beer, one in each pant leg. Officers reportedly found one can of beer in Amato's left pant leg but did not locate the other.

Amato was charged with underage intoxication, walking along highways and disorderly conduct.

Male urinates in public, possesses marijuana

At 12:40 a.m. Saturday, officers observed a male urinating in the alley near St. Mary's parish. Officers reportedly stopped the male and identified him as Miami University sophomore Peter Kistner, 19.

Kistner reportedly had an odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath and admitted to drinking earlier in the night. He was taken to OPD where a prescription bottle containing marijuana, an unopened can of Natural Light beer and a Miami University identification belonging to someone else were found in his possession.

Kistner was charged with underage possession of alcohol, disorderly conduct and drug abuse, marijuana possession.
