Relay for Life ceremony to honor cancer survivorsThis year's Relay for Life will be April 3 and 4 on Cook Field Relay for Life is a two-day walk that allows student organizations to form teams to raise money for the American Cancer Society and increase awareness for cancer.
The walk starts at 6 p.m. April 3 and continues overnight until noon April 4. There will be free food, music, entertainment and games all night long.
Illuminated bags called luminaries will light up the track all night long. The Luminaria ceremony begins at 9 p.m. April 3.
During the ceremony, a cancer survivor and caretaker will speak and read off all of the names of those who have been affected by cancer in honor and remembrance.

Archeology of the Bible to be discussed March 28
The department of history will be hosting a speech on the archeology of the Bible at 8 p.m., March 28 in 115 Shideler. Walter Kaiser, a professor of Old Testament history and president emeritus of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, will present the lecture, entitled "Top Fifteen Finds."
Kaiser will address archeological finds that can confirm previously challenged aspects of the Bible. Kaiser has written more than 50 books and is currently the editor of the NIV Archaeological Reference Bible.
The event is co-sponsored by Oxford Bible Fellowship, Faith Baptist Church, Intervarsity Christian Fellowship, Campus Crusade for Christ, Navigators, Catholic Campus Ministry and Hillel.

John and Mary Beth Tinker, the brother and sister famous for their student rights Supreme Court fight, will speak March 30 and 31 on both the Miami University Oxford and Hamilton campuses.
At the ages of 15 and 13, respectively, the Tinkers were expelled from school in December 1965 after wearing black armbands in protest of theVietnam War.
The Tinkers will speak at 9 a.m. March 30 in 209 Harrison Hall and at 5:30 p.m. at the Wilks Conference Center at the Hamiltoncampus.
They will also be speaking at 9 a.m. March 31 in the Bishop Hall Living Room and then at noon at the Miami University Hamilton Downtown Center.
