The Miami RedHawks won a 27-24 battle against Northern Illinois Saturday at Yager Stadium, taking a 10-9 lead in the all-time series and getting its second straight victory over the Huskies.
On Saturday, the hockey team gambled with a “controlled chaos” approach, and it ended up costing it in the end, as the RedHawks lost 3-1 at the Steve ‘Coach’ Cady Arena.
On Friday, Miami (1-2-1) turned a three-goal first period and a strong penalty kill into a victory against Ferris State (1-1) at the Goggin Ice Center, giving Bergeron his first win as the head coach of the RedHawks.
For the second straight season, Miami had special colored-ribboned helmets made for its annual cancer-awareness game.
