Neither team jumped ahead during the rest of the third period and overtime, as the contest ended in a 4-4 tie Saturday in the Steve ‘Coach’ Cady Arena at the Goggin Ice Center.
The RedHawks fell, 38-16, to Western Michigan Saturday afternoon at Waldo Stadium.

“Everyone’s adjusted fine,” junior defenseman Rourke Russell said. “We’re just really excited to get things going. Everyone loves Bergeron and what he’s done so far.”
The RedHawks battled until the end but could not keep up with the high-powered Falcons, falling 7-4.

Waterwall, a junior studying business management, is the president of the team. Like many of his teammates, Waterwall was introduced to lifting as training for another sport.

Farahay is following in her grandfather’s footsteps by becoming a key member of a university band. Her grandpa, Richard Taylor, played the tuba in Ohio State’s marching band in the 1950s. Farahay has been working at it since middle school.

Fans of Redhawk hockey eagerly await the start to the new season every fall, and they have every reason to be impatient this year. There will be a new voice overheard on the Miami bench this season, and that voice belongs to Chris Bergeron.
After falling behind 14-3, Martin said the RedHawks had no energy. Somehow, they found some and went on a 31-0 run, spurring the 34-20 victory.
Just when it looked like Miami (4-4) was about to go on a multi-game winning streak, the vision faded.
Cincinnati's streak and Miami's wait will continue for at least another year.
