What you missed from Hollywood’s biggest night: The Oscars

The most talked-about moment had to be the number of Oscars “Anora” took home. For most of the ceremony, many films were tied for the most wins. However, by the end, “Anora” left with five awards in some of the biggest categories, including film editing, original screenplay, best directing, best actress and, most importantly, best picture.

'Live from New York, it’s Saturday Night!'

It started out as a normal Wednesday — on Feb. 12, I woke up, went to my two classes, got coffee with my friend and went back to my apartment to take a nap before weekly The Miami Student production. Before I got the chance to go to sleep, my phone buzzed. I opened it to a notification from X (formerly known as Twitter) I never would have expected in a million years: “Saturday Night Live – SNL shared a photo.”

Timothée Chalamet delivers award-worthy performance in Bob Dylan biopic

If you grew up anything like I did, Bob Dylan was a household name. His albums would be constantly spinning on my dad’s record player, and “Maggie’s Farm” remains stuck in my head, even now. As I got older, I never sought out to listen to Dylan on my own time. There’s so much other music out there — it’s almost as if his discography had slipped my mind. However, seeing “A Complete Unknown,” the 2024 Dylan biopic starring Timothée Chalamet, reminded me why I loved the musician in the first place, and revitalized my desire to listen to his music again as an adult.
