After upsetting the Southern Methodist University (SMU) Mustangs (20-13, 8-10) 89-79 in a First Four game, the Miami University RedHawks men's basketball team (32-1, 18-1) will face the University of Tennessee Volunteers (22-11, 12-8) on March 20 at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia.

The Miami University RedHawks baseball team loaded the bus without a sound. The RedHawks were headed to Cape Girardeau, Missouri, for yet another road series. They played 12-straight away games before playing their home opener at McKie Field.

In April, 2025, The Miami Student won multiple awards at the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) conference, including the 2025 Corbin Gwaltney Award for Best All-Around Student Newspaper. In addition to this, The Student’s Sports section received the honor of first place in Sports Coverage from the Ohio News Media Association in 2024.

The spring semester is here, and the Miami University RedHawks athletic program features a slew of notable home matchups. The men’s and women’s basketball teams as well as hockey enter the back half of their seasons, while baseball and softball will start up early in the semester.

The scoreboard read 1-1 going into the third quarter of the first round of the NCAA field hockey tournament. The Miami University RedHawks were looking to advance to their first Elite Eight in program history. The unranked RedHawks faced the No. 4 University of Virginia Cavaliers.

The Miami University RedHawks football team (5-3, 4-0 in conference play) won against the Western Michigan University Broncos (4-4, 3-1 in conference play) 26-17 to continue their in-conference winning streak. The two teams were undefeated going into Saturday's matchup at Yager Stadium.

The Miami University RedHawks football team (4-3, 3-0 in conference play) won against the Eastern Michigan University Eagles (2-6, 1-3 in conference play) to improve to a 4-3 overall winning record. The RedHawks won 44-30 at Yager Stadium for a third in-conference win.

The Miami University women's soccer team finished 4-3-4 in Mid-American Conference (MAC) play last season, placing fifth in the conference and falling short to Kent State University in the first round of the conference tournament.

Summer training is drawing to a close for Miami University volleyball, and six incoming athletes will join the RedHawk roster for the 2025 season. Assistant head coach Haley Davidson is the newest addition to a coaching staff that features returning head coach Dan Gwitt and assistant coaches Kristina Fultz and Amanda Chamberlain.
