The spring semester is here, and the Miami University RedHawks athletic program features a slew of notable home matchups. The men’s and women’s basketball teams as well as hockey enter the back half of their seasons, while baseball and softball will start up early in the semester.
Miami students have plenty of opportunities to witness history and support the RedHawks this spring. Here are six home games to watch this semester.
Hockey vs. Western Michigan University (Feb. 6–7)
Goggin Ice Center is brewing something new this season. The RedHawks turned things completely around, flipping a 3-28-3 record last year to 14-8-2 … and counting.
The RedHawks dropped the first series against Western Michigan, last year’s national champions, 5-2 and 6-2. Miami has found moderate success compared to last year with a 5-7-2 conference record. The home series against the Broncos will be a strong test for Miami as the season comes to a close, and it serves as the penultimate series at Goggin this season.
Men’s basketball vs. Ohio University (Feb. 13)
Following a rematch on the road against the University of Buffalo Bulls and an away MAC-Sun Belt challenge against the Marshall University Thundering Herd, the RedHawks welcome the Ohio University Bobcats to Millett Hall for this year’s Battle of the Bricks.
Miami looks to avenge the Bobcats at home following last year’s 75-66 loss on the road. Arguably more importantly, the RedHawks will be looking to defend their national ranking and strong record.
A win against Ohio would help solidify Miami’s case for the No. 1 seed in the MAC tournament and add to the RedHawks’ growing resume. With record-setting attendances at recent men’s basketball games, the RedHawks expect high turnout at home for the rest of the season.
Women’s basketball vs. Ball State University (Feb. 21)
The women’s basketball team has shocked the MAC so far this season. Despite a preseason No. 7 ranking, the RedHawks lead the MAC and are so far undefeated in conference play, outscoring MAC opponents by an average of 15 points.
Miami toppled Ball State, last year’s conference champions, 72-52 once already on the road. In year three under head coach Glenn Box, the RedHawks will be looking to defend home court and continue their winning ways as March creeps closer and closer.

Men’s basketball vs. University of Toledo (March 3)
The men’s basketball team has a 27-game home winning streak, with its last loss against Wright State University on Nov. 9, 2024.
The RedHawks will defend Millett one more time this season against Toledo in a midweek matchup. Miami snapped a 14-year losing streak against the Rockets at home last year, and in the final stretch of the regular season when seeding becomes most important, they will look to even the series record. Miami is 70-71 historically against Toledo.
Softball vs. Western Michigan University (March 13-14)
Miami softball embarked on its first season under new head coach Mandy Gardner-Colegate last year. The RedHawks didn’t miss any steps, capturing a MAC championship and appearing in the NCAA tournament.
With a strong roster going into the 2026 campaign, the RedHawks hope to continue last year’s success. A good test will be the series against Western Michigan, including a double header on March 14, to open conference play. Miami has won the last seven matchups over the Broncos, taking three games last year in Kalamazoo.
Baseball vs. University of Toledo (April 17-19)
After going 2-1 against Toledo in the regular season, Miami baseball faced the Rockets twice again in the MAC tournament. The RedHawks took the first game 10-4 to set the expectations, and they later handled Toledo 6-3 to take the title.
With their first conference championship in 20 years, the RedHawks welcome Toledo to Hayden Park for a weekend series.
