The streak survives: Miami men’s basketball wins a tight clash against UMass

More than 9,000 people packed Millett Hall on Jan. 27 to watch the No. 24 Miami University men’s basketball team (21-0) take on the University of Massachusetts (UMass) Minutemen. Fans began filling the stands over an hour before tip-off for the nationally-televised clash of Mid-American Conference (MAC) foes. With a total attendance of 9,223, it would be the 10th-largest crowd at Millett.

On a frigid night in Kent, Ohio, the Miami University RedHawks men’s basketball team (20-0) entered a hostile sellout crowd at Kent State University’s (14-5) M.A.C. Center. The RedHawks entered the game ranked No. 25 in the nation; a first since the 1998-99 season. The Golden Flashes would be the first test for the nationally-recognized Miami team. 



Preview: Miami football looks to rebound against Fresno State to maintain Arizona Bowl title

The Miami University RedHawks football team (7-6) will head west to play in the Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl looking to defend its title from last year’s bowl game. The Mid-American Conference (MAC) runner-ups will face the Fresno State Bulldogs (8-4), who finished fifth in the Mountain West Conference (MWC), at 4:30 p.m. ET on Dec. 27 in Tucson, Arizona. 


Recap: Miami hockey splits series with St. Cloud State in an action-packed weekend

After an unsuccessful road trip to Kalamazoo, the Miami University men's hockey team (8-4, 2-4 in conference play) found itself back on home ice for a weekend series against the St. Cloud State University Huskies (7-7, 2-4 in conference play) on Nov. 21-22. Both teams entered with a 1-3 record in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC), and the split series left both teams toward the bottom of the conference at 2-4.
