Miami University’s club baseball has never made it to the National Club Baseball Association (NCBA) regional tournament, an honor reserved for conference winners. Miami, which is in the Mid-Atlantic West Conference, had a season like it's never seen before in 2022-23. The RedHawks went 14-1 in conference (and 26-6-1 overall) and ran away with the Mid-Atlantic West this year.

Baseball season is in full swing, and neither of our favorite Southwest Ohio teams, the Miami RedHawks or the Cincinnati Reds are looking too hot. It doesn’t look like a World Series is in either of team’s future in 2023, but thankfully we’re just a couple of short months away from the MLB Amateur Draft. While Miami doesn’t have a Sam Bachman this year, it may have a few players with chances at futures in pro ball.

Opening Day, one of the most beautiful days, is finally upon us. That means a few things. First, and most importantly, America’s national pastime is finally back. Also, spring is coming and eventually summer. And finally, it’s time to check on the former RedHawks trying to make their names in pro baseball.

Miami University wrapped up its women’s and men’s basketball seasons and its hockey season last weekend. Nobody won a playoff game or finished first in the conference, but no teams went winless either. Here’s a short roundup of each of those seasons.

With the college baseball season officially in full swing, it’s the perfect time to remember Miami University alumnus Buddy Schultz, who holds one of the most incredible records in NCAA baseball history. I’d challenge anyone to find one less likely to be broken. What he’s accomplished since his playing career ended is even better.

To any Cincinnati Reds fans reading, I’m sorry for what you’ve been through in the last ten years. It’s truly sad that the oldest professional baseball team, an organization with such a storied history, has fallen on such hard times. Especially because those hard times have been largely brought about by an owner unwilling to spend, even to keep his own homegrown talent around. But don’t stop reading! I’m going to try to mix some hope in with the doom and gloom.
