Oxford police respond to overdose, racial slur vandalism and fake IDs

Between Sept. 7 and Sept. 14, police officers responded to 23 incidents, according to the Oxford Police Department report.

On Sept. 7, at 12:42 p.m., in the 600 block of S. College Ave., officers met with a resident about a vandalism complaint. Officers took a report and identified a suspect. The investigation is ongoing.

That night at 9:21 p.m., in the 5000 block of College Corner Pike, officers received a report from a resident who said that sometime overnight, an object was thrown through their living room window. Officers have not identified a suspect.

On Sept. 8, at 1:51 a.m., in the 5000 block of College Corner Pike, officers were on routine patrol when they noticed a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of an apartment complex. Officers detained a male as he exited the car. Officers found the car had been reported stolen through a neighboring agency. The suspect was arrested and transported to Butler County Jail.

That same day at 1:07 p.m., in the 5800 block of K Bell St., officers and paramedics responded to a suspected overdose. Narcan was administered, and drug paraphernalia was confiscated from the scene. Officers filed a report, and charges are pending.

Later that day at 2:23 p.m., in the 5700 block of College Corner Pike, officers responded to a report of shoplifting at Walmart. Officers learned that the suspect had stolen a pair of sunglasses and refused to stop when store security asked. Officers identified the suspect through video surveillance and requested a warrant for their arrest.

On Sept. 9, at 9:22 p.m., in the 0 block of Reaghs Way, officers arrested a male with three outstanding warrants. He was then transported to Butler County Jail.

On Sept. 10, at 12:34 p.m., in the 0 block of E. Park Place, officers responded to a report of a male who had carved a racial slur into a tabletop. The suspect was charged with criminal mischief.

On Sept. 11, at 12:04 a.m., in the 0 block of E. High St., officers observed a male vomiting in an alley. After making contact, officers discovered the male was underage and had a fake ID. Officers cited the male for underage consumption, disorderly conduct and possession of a fake ID.

That same day at 1:08 a.m., in the 0 block of E. High St., officers responded to a female who fell and hit her head on the sidewalk. Officers discovered she was underage and in possession of a fake ID. She was transported to the hospital and cited.

On Sept. 12, at 12:39 a.m., in the 0 block of E. High St., officers stopped a male with an open container of alcohol. Officers discovered that he was under 18 and issued him a citation for an open container and underage consumption.

On Sept. 13, at 12:37 a.m., in the 0 block of N. Main St., officers found a highly intoxicated male asleep in a truck bed. When officers made contact, they discovered the male was underage. The male was evaluated by a medical squad and cited.

Later that day at 2:58 a.m., in the 0 block of E. High St., officers responded to a report of a highly intoxicated female possibly in need of assistance. Officers discovered she was underage. Officers cited her and transported her home.
