Staff Males go trash tipping, OPD makes one arrest Around 2:30 a.m. Thursday, an OPD officer was driving on the 0 block of North Campus when he noticed two male subjects walking north on the sidewalk. The two males turned left onto High Street and the officer followed in his car. When he turned on Campus Avenue, he saw a large Rumpke trashcan kicked over in the middle of the street. The officer made a U-turn and drove back up to the area where he saw the two male subjects and another Rumpke trashcan in the middle of the street. A male in a white jacket walked away from the toppled trashcan and attempted to hide behind a house on the corner of Campus Avenue and Church Street. The two males then led the officer on a chase. The officer caught up with one of the subjects and pushed him to the ground. He was given verbal commands to lie on his stomach and put his hands behind his back. The officer identified the subject as Miami University first-year Michael Zachary Sens, according to OPD. At the police station, Sens said criminal mischief sounded serious and wanted to know why he had been charged, according to OPD. He said he respected the police and should not have run. As he kept talking, he said he would fail a breathalyzer test if he was given one, according to OPD. Sens was charged with sales to and use by underage persons, obstructing official business and criminal mischief, according to OPD. He was then released. Fairfield women assault victims at Brick Street Around 1:45 a.m. Feb. 17, an OPD officer was dispatched to Brick Street Bar & Grill in reference to two females acting disorderly in front of the bar. When officers arrived, the suspects were identified as Seairra Re-nae Jones, 24 years old of Fairfield, and Alicia S. Barron, 20 years old of Fairfield, according to OPD. The officer proceeded to speak with other individuals who were also at Brick Street. One victim said Jones threw a beer bottle at her face and punched her in the eye. The victim had a cut on her nose and a laceration under her eye. The other victim said that Barron pushed her to the ground. The victim cut her hand on the broken glass on the bathroom floor. The suspects were then taken to OPD where they were issued summons for assault, according to OPD. While completing paperwork, Jones argued she had not been involved in any altercations. Both were cited for assault and released, according to OPD.
