Understanding 1820s fashion can show us how clothing went from a few specially-made, meaningful pieces to the fast-changing wardrobes the world knows today.

In early October, Miami University announced the launch of the brand new Fashion Institute. Though there are Miami alumni who have pursued fashion as a career, there has not been a fashion networking program in place.

Peace, love and boho: Three trends that Miami University students are loving

In 2017, 1980s-esque windbreakers and scrunchies were trend highlights; 2020 brought back “Y2K;” I even wrote about 2014 Tumblr fashion in 2022. Now, 2025 is reviving 2013.
