Miami field hockey battled Boston University on Monday September 4, but the Terriers beat the RedHawks 3-1 in a close contest. The game concluded the Miami Invitational which began in Oxford on Friday and welcomed BU as well as the University of Massachusetts-Lowell and Ball State University.
By early June, many RedHawks began to work, travel, or start the Summer Semester. Recent graduate Andrew Dusing kicked off his summer by heading out west. More specifically, out west to the Historic Hayward Field at the University of Oregon.

Miami football (0-0) -- who is coming into the year after a six-game regular season winning-streak -- is seeking a good start to the 2017 campaign as it makes the southern trek to face Marshall University (0-0) on the road.
"We haven't gotten off to a good start at Miami in quite some time -- probably since 2010. And I don't even know how that season started," Martin said.
Several of Miami University's varsity sports teams were hard at work before students began returning to campus. After several weeks of practice and several games played, soccer, volleyball and field hockey look forward to the rest of their seasons. Miami University's new head basketball coach Jack Owens announced the hiring of his staff on April 12 and the hiring of his assistant on April 18. This announcement comes after ex-head coach John Cooper's contract wasn't renewed after his five year tenure at Miami, after the coaching staff was fired and shortly after Miami's basketball season ended in early March.
