For the past 78 years, the first Monday in May has signified the biggest event for the Metropolitan Museum of Art (the Met): the Met Gala. Celebrities, billionaires and designers pay thousands of dollars to take part in one of the biggest nights in fashion, and I eat it up every time.

"The Devil Wears Prada 2" is a rare example of a sequel that lives up to the fabulousness of the original.

A sequel in 2026? Groundbreaking (in a good way)

“The Devil Wears Prada,” a fashion classic, was released in 2006. Now, 20 years later, the iconic cast of characters has returned for what has to be one of the best sequels I have ever seen.Sequels tend to be hit or miss for me, with an emphasis on the miss. Even when I have the time of my life watching them, they almost always fail to meet the quality of the original. “The Devil Wears Prada 2” is an exception to that.

How the birthplace of house music is shaping Miami University’s EDM scene

As the panelists for Up & Up Oxford’s DJ competition met in February to listen to sets submitted by students hoping to open for popular EDM duo Shipwrek. The panelists expected to listen to energetic tracks that amplify rooms and invigorate crowds. They didn’t expect to hear the blasting horns of the FOX NFL theme. For Andrew Solomon, a sophomore business analytics major, that’s the purpose of being a DJ — picking the right track at the right time, even the unexpected.

Books to plow through during summer break

Look, I get it, we’re all burnt out, and we don’t want to read words anymore. But at some point during summer break, you’re going to wake up on that towel on the beach and realize you’re bored out of your mind and need something to do.

My big summer plans

One last margarita tower at Fiesta Charra

Fiesta Charra is one of Oxford’s most popular spots. Chances are you’ve been there at least once. Maybe it was for a margarita tower during your Miami experience, or maybe you remember the endless Yik Yak rumors about police raids. As my time here comes to an end, my friends and I wanted to go back just one last time.

Reconnecting with scissors and glue sticks: A history of zines

Sticky fingers, paper clippings and ink smears are the fundamentals of zines. While this may sound juvenile, this accessible entrance to a nuanced community is a huge part of the appeal. Anyone can do it, any time.Stefanie Hilles, a librarian at the Art and Architecture Library, defined zines as “self-published, kind of anti-establishment, underground little magazines that, in a lot of ways, are done for the love of the game instead of profit.”

The Berry Bar is shaking things up on High Street

It's a high 70-degree Sunday in Oxford, one of the first of the spring season, and I find myself craving something cold, refreshing and, most importantly, nutritional. Historically, this would’ve been hard to find for students around Oxford, where Uptown is known for its assortment of bars, sandwich shops and other fast-casual restaurants. However, on April 11, a new kind of bar opened on High Street — The Berry Bar.
