TMS Culture Class Outfits

The most stressful part of a day can be deciding what to wear. You need something practical while still looking put together and somewhat stylish.

I struggle with this tremendously. I have tried my best to find clothing items and accessories that create great outfits but are still comfy to wear around campus.

Wide-leg pants

Skinny jeans are out — I hate to break it to you. Wide-leg and baggy pants are all the rage, and maybe for the better. They are more breathable and comfortable, especially for those long walks to class.

Baggy jeans can be the base for any outfit. Wide-leg leggings have been my personal favorite — they’re soft and athletic but still a little more intentional than simple sweatpants.

Tennis shoes

Tennis shoes always deem themselves necessary. The recent brands that seem to be popular are the Adidas Sambas, or old-school Reeboks. These still function as normal walking shoes should, but elevate an outfit to the next level. Dress them up or down depending on the outfit.

Sometimes, they can become a little pricey. However, Goodwill always seems to have a pair on their shelves, and from my experience, they’re almost always in good condition.

Zip-up hoodies

A hoodie is a classic staple that can be put over anything. A zip-up is especially practical for taking it on and off. If the weather is hot, but a classroom is cold, or there is a possibility of rain, this is the perfect option.

It can be worn over T-shirts or tank tops, and with any pair of bottoms. It gives an outfit a cozy look while also keeping you warm.

Tank tops are the perfect solution for a sweltering hot day. Recently, the Y2K style of layering different colored tank tops has resurfaced. It can add extra pizzazz to a simple outfit and give the opportunity to create some fun color combinations.

Headbands or hats

Accessories perfectly add to any outfit. Headbands can create a simple hairstyle that also keeps the hair out of your face. Buy ones with polka dots or gems to add extra fun patterns.

Hats can also be a stylish addition. Represent a sports team, school or just a fun logo. It also helps keep the sun off your face and prevent a nasty sunburn.

You don’t need to be the most fashionable or rich person to create a fun and functional outfit. Stay comfy and in style this semester with some of these options.
