Student account holds for vaccination requirement now active

In an email to the Miami University community on Oct. 21, the Miami COVID Response Team announced that beginning Oct. 21, provisional holds on student accounts will appear if the required COVID-19 vaccine documentation or filed exemption is not uploaded to MedProctor.

The email reminded students, faculty and staff that the final deadline to meet the university-wide requirement is Oct. 25.

Students with provisional holds on their account can still register for spring courses up until Nov. 12, but cannot change their schedule after. Spring schedules with account holds are also in danger of cancellation.

If students do not meet the requirements by Oct. 25, they will not be able to attend in-person classes or events in the spring and will not have access to campus facilities after Jan. 1, 2022. Holds are updated and removed once per day after Oct. 25.

Employees who do not upload proof of vaccination or file for exemption by the deadline are subject to disciplinary action, according to Miami’s policy page.

“Procrastination is not advisable,” the email reads.

Vaccine clinics are available at Armstrong Student Center, regional campuses and Student Health Services. Booster shots are also available to eligible individuals through Miami’s Health Services.
