Whether you're a first-year student or a senior, coming back to campus is a time to reconnect with old friends and – hopefully – make some new ones. It can be easy to feel alone, so here are my top recommendations for books about friendship to help you feel a little less lonely. Some are slightly tragic, and some more hopeful, but all of these books have helped me feel more connected to those around me.

The University Senate convened for its annual budget symposium. It covered the new zero-sum budget model, cuts to certain majors and workload requirements at the April 14 meeting.

The Miami Student staff won 13 awards at the Region 4 Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) conference on April 4, including the 2025 Corbin Gwaltney Award for Best All-Around Student Newspaper in the large school category, beating out every student paper at a university over 10,000 students in Ohio, Michigan, West Virginia and Western Pennsylvania.
