The Battle for the Victory Bell is one of the oldest rivalries in college football. The matchup between Miami University and now Big 12 Conference opponent, the University of Cincinnati, has been going on since 1888. The teams have gone head to head almost every season to see who captures the victory bell. However, in 2023 Cincinnati made the jump from the American Conference to the Big 12.

As Miami University welcomes new and returning students back to campus, the five fall sports of field hockey, football, hockey, soccer and volleyball kick-off their seasons. Whether it’s late-night football MACtion on a Tuesday or a weekend field hockey series, the RedHawks welcome support in search of winning the Mid-American Conference title in their respective sport.

This season, the Miami University RedHawks men’s basketball team earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2007, ending a 19-year drought. A complete overhaul of the program made this possible for the RedHawks. For nearly everyone on staff, this was their first experience with the Big Dance.

In a year filled with historic seasons from both men’s and women’s basketball teams, the Miami University softball team is looking to contribute to the RedHawks’ athletics success. The Lady RedHawks are off to a 24-8 record to start the season.

The Miami University RedHawks women’s basketball team captured its first postseason victory with a 65-58 win over the Kent State University Golden Flashes at the Mid-American Conference (MAC) tournament. The RedHawks are set to face the Ohio University Bobcats at Rocket Mortgage Arena in Cleveland on March 13.

The Miami University Redhawks football team had a busy offseason going into its 2025 campaign. The RedHawks recruited 13 players in the transfer portal, many of whom became starters on an offense that lost all 11 starters from 2024.

The Miami University RedHawks football team (5-3, 3-0 in conference play) are back for another week of football. This time, the RedHawks are back at home facing yet another Michigan team in Western Michigan University (4-3, 3-0) at 3:30 p.m. at Yager Stadium on Oct. 25.

The Miami University football team is set to kick off Mid-American Conference (MAC) play this weekend with its first clash against Northern Illinois University (NIU).
