Miami University football head coach Chuck Martin announced the signing of 18 recruits from the high school class of 2026 on Dec. 3.

The signings came three days before Miami competes in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) championship at Ford Field on Dec. 6. With the main winter transfer portal window opening from Jan. 2-16, 2026, the RedHawks brought in 18 recruits to boost the team’s roster for next year.

Miami initially had a recruiting class of 24, but six players flipped their commitment to Power Four programs. Notably, quarterback Tommy Carr announced via social media that he changed his commitment from Miami to the University of Michigan.

Martin said these changes are disappointing for the RedHawks but highlighted the team’s recruiting abilities.

“If we’re recruiting kids that Michigan thinks are good enough to help them win games, our recruiting staff and our coaches are doing a phenomenal job,” Martin said. “The portal is the same. If you don’t lose any kids in the portal to Power Fours, you probably didn’t have a great year.”

Seventeen of the 18 recruits live within a few hours of Oxford, with six currently playing in Ohio and five coming from Michigan.

Bellisari is 30-0 and hasn’t lost a game in two years. He led the team to a state title in 2024, throwing for 2,206 yards and 31 touchdowns. He has thrown for 2,313 yards and 30 touchdowns so far this season, and the team plays for the state championship on Dec. 5.

“All he does is win,” Martin said. “All he does is compete … Andrew’s kind of a throwback. It’s about football, it’s about going into school and working hard and figuring out how to contribute to help a team win. That’s all he’s done in high school, and he’s got a chance to go 31-0 and win three state titles.”
