Suspects climb on Jeep and bookstore

At 2:06 a.m. Wednesday, OPD responded to the intersection of Poplar and High in reference to three males witnessed climbing atop a vehicle.

A witness idling in his vehicle in the alley behind 110 E. High St. said three males scrambled atop a Jeep and hoisted themselves onto the roof of Follett's Miami Co-op Bookstore.

One male stopped by police claimed he took the action in pursuit of a friend. However, once on the roof, the suspect claimed his friend had vanished. This report was wholly rejected by the witness.

OPD documented several smudges and scratches on the Jeep's hood after meeting with the owner. Police were able to identify the suspect's footprint.

The other two suspects are at large.

House burglary has no suspects

At 11:03 a.m. Monday, OPD responded to N. Campus Ave. in response to a burglary.

The two male complainants said they had left the house around 10 p.m. Saturday and returned early Sunday morning. Around 9 a.m. Sunday, the men awoke to find their shared bedroom had been ransacked. Presumably this had occurred while the pair was out, but it was only realized in the harsh daylight of the morning after.

Items stolen include a MacBook Pro, Burberry watch, silver money clip, PlayStation 3, four PlayStation 3 controllers and a Dell Latitude laptop and charger. In total, the loss is estimated at $3,929. Other items were discovered missing, but deemed inconsequential by the complainants.

One of the men reported two backpacks missing and OPD presumes the backpacks were used by the suspects to make off with their spoils. While insisting they locked both their bedroom and front doors, the pair claimed after their landlord installed new windows, they were no longer able to secure them. The officer stepped over to the bedroom window and promptly secured it, to which the men replied, "We'll we recently figured it out."

There are no suspects.

Unusual wake up call for Oxford resident

At 10:15 a.m. Saturday, OPD responded to E. Church St. in response to an alleged burglary early that morning.

The complainant alleged, after a night out, she awoke in her bed at 2:13 a.m. to find a six-foot two-inch black male standing over her. The victim described him as wearing a "wife beater," more commonly referred to as a tight, ribbed white tank top. He also sported an American flag bandana.

She screamed, "Get the fuck out of my house!" and he did. She promptly returned to sleep. After waking up, the victim called her mother to recount the incident. On her mother's insistence she file a police report, she called OPD.

The victim told the officer she and her housemates checked the house that morning to ensure the suspect had left. Further, she indicated nothing had been stolen. When asked how the suspect may have gained entrance to the residence, the complainant stated, "Every door in our house is unlocked."

There are no suspects.
