Police Beat (09/19/2014)

Feisty Female

At 4:54 a.m. on Wednesday, an officer was called to McCullough-Hyde Hospital to reports of an uncooperative female. When the officer arrived, he was informed by the doctor on duty that the female had been combative with staff and was refusing treatment. The female had an odor of alcoholic beverages coming from her mouth, and had been transported to the hospital after she had thrown up on a public transportation bus. The female had attempted to bite two nurses and had slapped a third. When told she would be taken to jail if she refused treatment, the female insisted that she would rather go to jail than be treated. The female was arrested for Underage Intoxication and Disorderly Conduct, and was transported to Butler County Jail.

Janitor cleans husband's clock

At 8:57 p.m. on Wednesday, an officer was dispatched to US Bank, 1 Lynn St., to a report of assault. When the officer arrived at the scene, they were met by the caller who reported that her husband had gotten into a physical altercation with the janitor of the bank over an issue regarding where they had parked. The husband of the caller explained to the officer that he and his family had been eating at LaRosa's, which is right next door to the bank, when they were confronted by the janitor. The janitor told the husband the bank parking lot was only for bank customers, and the husband replied the owner of the bank had given permission for customers of the restaurant to park in the lot. The owner of the restaurant mentioned to the officer there had been issues in the past with the janitor confronting customers. The janitor had called his boss after speaking with the husband, and the husband asked to speak to the boss as well. The boss had reportedly informed the husband and the janitor there was no issue with the parking lot and the janitor should leave the situation alone. After the phone call the men continued to argue and then the janitor punched the husband in the chest. The husband then knocked the janitor to the ground, and this cycle repeated three times. The husband told the officer that he wished to press assault charges against the janitor, and the janitor was given a citation for assault and released.
