The Miami Student wins two SPJ awards, honored finalist in five others

During the weekend of April 10-11, members of The Miami Student’s editorial staff attended the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) mega regional conference in Louisville, Kentucky. The conference, titled “Never Silent,” welcomed attendees from Regions 4, 5 and 12 bringing together student and professional journalists for a series of informational sessions and the presentation of the Mark of Excellence Awards for the best of collegiate journalism.

V2K: 25 years of Vision Dance Company

Miami University’s Vision Dance Company (VDC) is a student-led organization on campus bringing dancers together to choreograph and perform. Established in 2001, they are “Miami’s most versatile dance organization.”On April 10 and 11, they performed their 2026 show, V2K — their own take on Y2K — celebrating the organization’s 25th anniversary.
