Miami Hockey adds new recruits thanks to rule changes

Before last season, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) made a landmark rule change that allowed hockey players who had previously played in the Canadian Hockey League (CHL) to play college hockey. Prior to the ruling, these players were seen as having lost their amateur status due to the CHL giving players stipends. The NCAA deemed them as professional payments.

If there’s one type of entertainment I’ll sit down and watch almost every day, much to my parents’ dismay, it would be horror, action-horror or something along those lines. So imagine my delight when I found out the new “Resident Evil” movie would be playing in a theater near me.

Miami Hockey not settling after best season in a decade

The Miami University hockey team is coming off its best season in over a decade. The RedHawks finished last season with an 18-16-2 record overall, and a record of 9-13-2 in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC). The team was voted No. 5 in the NCHC preseason poll and Top 20 in the NCAA coming into this season, building on the momentum left over from the previous season.
