Above all, we just need to see more empathy.
As humans, we crave social connectivity and interaction, and much of that was taken away in a matter of days before we had time to contemplate, much less accept it.
Most of us on the editorial board are upperclassmen. But, knowing new students are facing a minimum of a five-week wait for coming to Oxford, we thought we’d offer some advice.

We, in MJF, have not confronted racism as fully as we could have. We could have listened more closely when People of Color described the unwelcoming environment they sometimes experience at this institution. We could have and should have done more, but did not. We must do better moving forward.
