Students speak out in support of visiting professors

When two Miami University sophomores found out many current faculty members won’t have a job at the university in the fall, they knew they had to do something. Makayla Archer and Ruku Pal heard about the changes from friends and professors and came across a petition put out by Miami’s chapter of the American Association of University Professors, an advocacy group for faculty. 











Miami students asked to self-quarantine after potential contact with coronavirus

The Butler County Health Department asked about 10 Miami students to self-quarantine after they returned from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) conference in Washington D.C., where, according to The Times of Israel, five attendees tested positive for the novel coronavirus.





Students start petition to ‘save the humanities’

From the outside, Bachelor Hall looks the same as any other brick building on Miami University’s campus. In the middle, though unseen from the exterior, sits a courtyard. When it’s warmer outside, students congregate here to study or read. Some clubs have meetings in the courtyard, and sometimes students hold poetry readings there. In the fall, it comes to life as the home of the English department’s Mega Fair.
