Austin R. Fast is currently a senior studying journalism and international studies at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
He became a Senior Staff Writer as a freshman, serving as University Affairs Reporter from March 2007 until February 2008, when he assumed the post of Associated Student Government Reporter.
In November 2008, Fast stepped up into a Campus Editor position before being selected as Editor in Chief in February 2009 by Miami University's Committee on Student Media Organizations.
In addition to his post at The Miami Student, Fast worked 10 hours a week as a student producer at WMUB-FM, Miami University's affiliated NPR station from August 2008 to February 2009, when fiscal difficulties forced Miami to shut down the station.
Fast has also worked as an editor for Miami's student magazine - Miami Quarterly.
He spent summer 2009 interning overseas in Kosovo with a wire news service called KosovaLive.
Fast hopes to find a job in print or radio journalism after graduating in May 2010.
