Miami is again hosting events this year to celebrate Information Security Awareness week. Events take place on the Oxford campus on Monday & Tuesday, October 8-9. All presentations will take place on Tuesday in the Shriver Center Multipurpose Room C.

JD Rogers, Director of Information Security for Great American Financial Resources, Inc. will deliver the keynote address for this year’s Information Security Awareness Week. His presentation, “Security Trends from Black Hat” will take place at 10:00 am. This discussion will be a whirlwind tour of some of the latest trends in security and hacking. These techniques come from some of the top minds in the security space as well as some of the top hackers in the world. Mr. Rogers will share a few of the more interesting topics that he was able to pick up at this year's conference.

Another very interesting discussion will be at 8:30 am and will come from David Barnes, the Director of the Miami Valley Regional Computer Forensics Lab in Dayton.  His presentation, “Science of Digital Forensics”will discuss the services the lab provides to local law enforcement and how they process the digital evidence. Barnes has been with the FBI for 21 years and involved in computer forensics for the last 14.  He has also worked Cyber investigations to include online predators and computer intrusions matters.

There will also be a presentation on mobile device security at 3:30 pm presented by Joe Bazeley, Miami’s Information Security Officer.  An information booth will also be available on Tuesday near the Food Court from Noon to 2:00 pm.

On Monday, October 8 there will be an information booth set up in the King Café from Noon to 2:30 pm.
