After nearly a month out of the water, the Miami men's swimming and diving team hit the pool over Spring Break at the MAC Championships, swimming to a fourth-place finish. The Red and White finished with a total of 574.5 points, only 12.5 points behind third-place Missouri State. Miami finished the season with a 3-7-1 dual meet record, and a 2-3 dual meet record in MAC meets.
Freshman Alex Reinhardt was the big winner for the RedHawks in the pool, winning two events in the 500-yard freestyle and the 1650-yard freestyle. Reinhardt became the first non-diver since 2007 to win two individual events for the Red and White.
Miami's diving team had a strong performance as well, as in the post-meet ceremony; sophomore Jimmy Beres was named the MAC Diver of the Year. To follow it up, his coach KongRong Li was awarded with the MAC Diving Coach of the Year award. The divers sparkled in the three-meter event earlier in the day, as freshman Chris Hoppler finished second, Beres, the one-meter diving champ, finished third, freshman Mike Grainger took fifth, and sophomore Cameron Horner finished ninth, earning 56 points for the RedHawks.
