ASG plans to investigate Scott's actions

"After considerable discussion, the oversight committee motioned to impeach Student Body President Michael James Scott."
With those words Tuesday, Brendan Buholzer, Associated Student Government (ASG) president pro tempore, announced an upcoming investigation into Scott's alleged misconduct last week.
Scott is accused of abusing presidential power when he issued an executive order Oct. 2 freezing ASG's assets and operations until they repealed a decision to ignore a Student Court ruling.
Scott said he understands why senate is angry, but hopes this matter can be resolved quickly.
"I don't think I acted outside the bounds of the constitution," Scott said. "Hopefully we can put this behind us."
Scott said he is still unsure what the charges are against him and hopes the committee will inform him before the hearing.
"Once I have been afforded due process and have been informed what charges are being brought against me, I will be more than happy to answer any questions they might have," Scott said in a statement Thursday night.
Buholzer said ASG is questioning whether Scott used his power responsibly or exploited his executive privileges.
"(President George) Bush has the power to authorize (the) military to take some kind of action, but the entire nation or Congress might see it as an abuse of that power," Buholzer said. "That is the nature of this (alleged abuse of executive privilege)."
ASG's oversight committee plans to hold a hearing to decide which of three actions should be taken: pardoning, censuring or removing Scott from office.
The committee will be composed of Buholzer and four senators who will question Scott and issue a recommendation for further action to the senate.
Buholzer tried to organize a hearing Thursday, but could not find a time that ASG advisers Susan Mosley-Howard, dean of students, and Barb Jones, vice president of student affairs, could
also attend.
"I did not feel comfortable without a neutral third party observing in case any questions arose due to the process," Buholzer said.

The only reason why pooholser is doing this is that he got his ass kicked in the elections and knows that this is the only way he could every be president. (Continued…)

Wait a second. How many people are bitter for the sole reason they were blackballed by Beta? Is this a personal grudge against Mike because you didn't get the fraternity of choice? If so--admit it. (Continued…)

what a sham buholzer is...just disgruntled that he was crushed in the election, Scott did nothing wrong, ASG needs to stop whining- it is ASG that should be impeached, they are the ones who are trying to overturn a decision that the student handbook says is final. (Continued…)

Buholzer chairs the committee that made the decision. He only reported their decision. Get off your Beta high horse and stop defending your boy in this way. (Continued…)

This should have absolutely nothing to do with the Greek Community. To suggest that this is a vindication of Greek Life is absolutely wrong.
I am a member of the Greek community, I personally have neutral feeling towards Beta. (Continued…)
