Swimmers qualify for Olympic trials
Three Miami University students are set to compete in U.S. Olympic Swimming Team Trials June 29-July 6 in Omaha, Nebr.
Sophomore Karen Frazier qualified at the Mutual of Omaha Swimvitational with a personal best time of 1:12.10 in the 100-meter breaststroke. Senior Ryan McHugh qualified in the 100 freestyle event. A transfer student from the University of Wisconsin, Casey Carpenter, qualified in the 200-backstroke.
Leno to perform at MU Family Weekend
Miami has announced that Jay Leno will perform during Family Weekend. The appearance is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. October 4 at Millet Hall. Presale for the Miami community is set for August 1, and tickets will be available at the Shriver Center box office. General admission tickets will be available August 25. Leno is the host of NBC's "Tonight Show," and is set to be replaced by Conan O'Brien in 2009.
