"Will Cicola is an awesome leader," sophomore cello player Joel Thompson said. "As you'll see, he's very energetic and enthusiastic about the music. It's been great working with him because he isn't critical, but gives great suggestions."

Thompson said that another attractive feature of the band is that even though it is not accredited, the people involved truly want to be there simply because of their passion for the music.

"I though I'd give it a shot because I've always had an attraction toward Jewish music," Thompson said.

The Klezmer ensemble practices once a week for two hours each session, although members have been rehearsing extra due to their upcoming performance.

After Cicola graduates, he said he hopes the group will still be established at Miami.

The Klezmer Ensemble will be playing its first concert ever at 8 p.m. Monday, April 28 in room 142 at the Center for Performing Arts.

"We've put a lot of work into the songs and I think it'll blow our guests away," Levy said.

Admission is free to the public in efforts to attract a larger audience for their premiere show. The group expects a large turnout especially from other musical groups at Miami.
